Vacancy: CSA Support and Science Governance (FSA)

The Division for Science, Evidence and Research (SERD) provides strategic analysis and evidence across the FSA’s remit. It comprises a multi-disciplinary team of about 75 scientists, economists, statisticians, social scientists and operational researchers. The Division works across FSA to ensure that the FSA identifies and deploys good quality science, evidence and analysis in developing, delivering and evaluating its policies and operational delivery. The Division works closely with the FSA’s Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA) and is led by the SCS1 Director of Science, Evidence and Research (DSER), who is also FSA’s Deputy CSA.

The role of the Branch is to support the DSER and the FSA’s CSA in developing and driving implementation of the FSA’s Science Evidence and Information Strategy, with a particular focus on the FSA’s strategic science programme and on work relating to the assurance and governance of the use of science in FSA. It provides support to the FSA CSA and to the General Advisory Committee on Science (GACS), FSA’s overarching ‘science council’, which provides independent expert challenge and advice on FSA’s use of science across its work.
