Basic Function: This scientist will have qualifications in agricultural/environmental engineering or environmental chemistry/microbiology or related discipline. The appointee will be the main researcher responsible for the project “Recovering and recycling of N/P/K nutrients from dairy residues” and will work strategically with other projects within a state funded initiative in dairy processing in collaboration with industry. The successful candidate will be experienced in agricultural/environmental engineering or chemistry with a focus on nutrient capture and waste water treatment.
This is a collaborative project between Teagasc, NUI Galway and the University of Limerick. The Contract Research Officer will work closely with Dr Owen Fenton and Dr Karl Richards (Teagasc), and researchers at NUIG and UL. This successful candidate will be the main individual that co-ordinates the activities of the project on a daily basis,
with the main aim of testing, validation and demonstration of N/P/K recovery technologies
Candidates must have an honours Level 8 degree in agricultural/environmental engineering or environmental chemistry/microbiology or a related discipline.
