Applications are invited for the post of Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 in the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science.

This postdoctoral position is part of a multi-disciplinary project (CAPRI-Green) in conjunction with Teagasc and University College Cork; the successful candidate will be working with the Common Agricultural Policy Regionalised Impact (CAPRI) model. The CAPRI model is a spatial economic model that has been widely used to support decision making related to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The model is a comparative static model of the EU agricultural sector, which consists of supply and market modules that are solved iteratively. The primary aim of this research is to utilise the CAPRI modelling framework for the assessment of greenhouse gas emissions from Irish agriculture.

The candidate will work closely with the other Irish partners in this project as well as with a number of CAPRI modellers from outside Ireland. They will work on model development and validation focussing largely on the representation of Ireland within the CAPRI model. This project will involve close interaction with government and industry stakeholders. This project is being funded through the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marines Research Stimulus Fund.

Salary: €34,975 per annum
