As an experienced manager you will coordinate the scientific work of the Feed Unit – with a staff of around 20 persons - and the EFSA Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed, implementing the Unit’s work programme in line with EFSA’s strategy.
We are looking for an outstanding professional with experience in managing and coordinating scientific processes and projects and with strong people management skills, able to stimulate innovation and cooperation in a dynamic yet regulated scientific environment.
You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time, as momentum builds behind a number of high-profile changes aiming at implementing EFSA Strategy 2020.
The jobholder will report to the Head of the Scientific Evaluation of Regulated Products (REPRO) Department.
Your key responsibilities
• Manager of scientific projects and processes – Coordinate and oversee the scientific work of the unit and Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed;
• Talent manager – Develop and retain the talent required to implement the Unit’s work programme in line with EFSA’s strategy;
• Strategic leader – Provide vision, direction and leadership to achieve the Unit’s mission;
• Trusted business adviser – Advise the Head of Department on the strategic planning of the department and the agency and help define the priorities in line with EFSA’s overall strategy and objectives;
• Partnership enabler – Fuel cooperation and enable partnership internally as well as with a wide range of international stakeholders and external organisations.
