SELECTION CRITERIA - TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL CAPACITY:

Requirement 1: The tenderer must be an organisation with experience in collection, collation, analyses and summarization of detailed and up-to-date intelligence on food labels and must be an owner of an on-line searchable interface food label database which will be accessible to EFSA.

Requirement 2:    The database should cover the information from at least 18 EU Member States at brand and product level on:

  • food and beverages
  • food supplements
  • food ingredients, including chemical substances (e.g. food additives) and food composition     (e.g. energy and nutrients)
  • packaging information
  • claims

The database should include information dated at least from 2012 onwards and be updated regularly, at least every month and should be structured with the highest possible granularity.

The database must have a possibility to produce graphs and to download all information in different formats compatible with Excel and/or directly in Excel.

Requirement 3: The access to the database must allow EFSA to use the extracted information for EFSA scientific outputs.
