In this role you will take responsibility for managing the ‘technical’ relationship with our Business to Business (B2B) and International customers covering food safety, quality and integrity of supply. This is a pivotal role where you will be expected to collaborate effectively across a number of internal teams, commercial, international sales, food development and operations, and externally with customers, to ensure customer requirements are agreed and delivered.

Duties will be varied but key focus areas are ensuring a good understanding of manufacturing capability and customer requirements, ensuring these are aligned; making sure customer requirements are conveyed clearly to manufacturing sites and supporting the supplier approval processes to demonstrate compliance; interpreting and providing guidance on international standards; supporting product launches ensuring appropriate processes are adhered to; and taking action in response to customer complaints.

You should therefore possess a food related third level qualification along with factory technical experience, or several years’ experience working in the food industry. You should also be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP, Food legislation and Hygiene. Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organisational skills are also required in order to negotiate with customers and internal stakeholders. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate experience of working with suppliers or major retailers. Understanding of primary poultry production, chilled food or high risk products would also be highly desirable. An understanding of international trade dynamics and/ or fluency in a second language would be beneficial.

Given the geographical spread of customers and suppliers travel is likely to be extensive.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful, growing and leading company which provides opportunities for collaborative team based working, learning, development and career advancement together with attractive, competitive and comprehensive remuneration packages.
