Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, and using a social marketing approach the successful candidate will manage safefood’s digital communications, education and promotional activities on the island of Ireland. They will ensure that digital strategies contribute to maintaining safefood’s effectiveness in a competitive environment and are integrated across all strands of our communications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and management of effective working relationships with key scientific stakeholders. The appointee will, as required, represent safefood at external working groups and other fora. Leading and participating in inter disciplinary and cross-directorate teams to ensure that scientific evidence is translated into consumer-focused action that support safefood’s corporate and communication objectives will be a key element of the job.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must have a 3rd level degree and / or a post graduate qualification in communications, digital communications, health promotion or similar together with at least 3 years post qualification experience in a communications function in the public, private, voluntary or community sectors. They should be able to demonstrate experience in promoting health behaviour change, project management, development and dissemination of digital content in a variety of formats and use of multiple channels, digital and social media analytics and monitoring and managing related budgets.
