Vacancy: Director of Corporate Affairs (FSAI)

THE ORGANISATION

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is a statutory, independent and science-based national agency, dedicated to protecting consumers by leading a collaborative food safety community to continuously raise food standards and create a culture of excellence. Core FSAI objectives exist to ensure, through regulation and engagement with stakeholders, that food consumed, produced, distributed or marketed in Ireland is to the highest possible standards. Consumers are placed at the centre of all its activities. Consumers have a fundamental right to safe food and also that they are not being misled about the food they are purchasing or eating. In line with its current strategic plan, the FSAI now seeks to appoint a dynamic individual to the role of Director of Corporate Affairs to assist in leading the organisation in the next stage of development.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Corporate Affairs will direct the FSAI’s corporate functions and act as Company Secretary. Based in Dublin, this role requires a high level of leadership, independence and agility. While providing leadership and direction to the FSAI in the areas of corporate strategy and planning, corporate governance, human resource management, finance management, information technology and, information and data management, the Director of Corporate Affairs will also ensure that the FSAI achieves its business objectives internally and externally, building the organisation’s impact and reputation and ensuring its future success. High level of exposure to senior management and external stakeholders will give the Director of Corporate Affairs both great exposure and the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the organisation.

THE PERSON

You are a highly competent senior practitioner with an impressive track record in similar roles. As a result, you have strong innovative and change management skills, together with the experience and energy necessary to lead a multi-functional team in a large organisation. Your excellent communications skills will mean you are capable of engaging with and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
