safefood Training & Mobility Programme 2014

The safefood Training & Mobility Programme is now accepting applications for the 2014 programme. The Programme enables safefood Knowledge Network members to visit and spend time in another organisation to develop their knowledge/expertise in an area related to the scope of the safefood Knowledge Networks.

This is an ideal opportunity for members to enhance their skills and broaden their expertise. The knowledge and skills gained can then be shared within their own organisation and with other Network members.

The overall purpose of the Knowledge Networks is to create linkages between those involved in food safety on the island of Ireland. The Knowledge Networks bring together those involved in creating and applying knowledge to support and enhance food safety and contribute to policy development and to the knowledge economy. Through the Training & Mobility Programme participants can broaden their expertise, exchange knowledge and encourage collaboration to enhance food safety between organisations and/or disciplines.

Past recipients have used the programme to:

• Attend local & international conferences – e.g UK, Australia, U.S.

• Attend courses e.g. Advanced Food Analysis, NL

• Laboratory visits to USFDA, Institute of Marine Science in Sydney, Food & Environment Research Agency in UK
