safefood at Balmoral Show

This year safefood’s Balmoral Show stand is promoting the importance of safe food handling, storage and cooking practices in the home to prevent food poisoning.

We are inviting visitors to the stand to become investigators and enter a ‘germ scene’ to identify how common food preparation behaviours could have resulted in food poisoning. Visitors will have to use their food safety knowledge to help them analyse the clues in our kitchen to rule out the suspects and find the culprit of food poisoning.

The messages are in line with the current safefood campaign ‘If you could see germs’ which was launched in November 2011.The basis for this campaign was safefood commissioned research projects.
