The number of children admitted to hospital with severe allergic reactions over the past five years has risen by 72%, figures show.

The data – obtained by a foundation set up by the parents of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who died after eating a Pret a Manger baguette – shows a rise in the number of cases of anaphylactic shock among those aged 18 and under.
