The Director of Science, Evidence and Research ensures that the FSA has a systematic and effective approach to identifying its evidence needs, and to gathering and analysing existing evidence to support policymaking and operational delivery.

In addition working with the FSA Chief Scientific Adviser, the Director develops and implements systems to assure the quality of the science that is gathered and used by the FSA, and implements plans to secure and maintain the current and future science capability of the organisation.
