The Institute of Food Safety, Integrity and Protection in collaboration with CIEH is proud to announce the launch of Food for Thought 2015: Future Risks and Resilience Issues, an important one-day conference on identifying and addressing risks in the food sector and exploring emerging food safety issues, particularly over the next 12 – 18 months.

The event has been developed in collaboration with TiFSiP’s Advisory Board of leading food sector experts - drawn from across the public and private sector - and will provide delegates with information about the tools, techniquesand knowledge necessary to effectively navigate this ever-evolving subject. A stimulating programme of high-level presentations and an engaging plenary will explore critical issues such as:
•Identifying emerging risks and examples of risk-management best practice
•Horizon scanning: what it is, how it is done, and how it can be used by food businesses and regulators
•Intelligence gathering in the UK, the link to international intelligence networks, and recently-identified emerging issues in the food chain
•New analytical techniques to identify adulteration without a reference sample
•Cloud-based services to rapidly identify and respond to emerging issues
•Revisions to Regulation (EC) No. 882/2004 (the ‘official feed and food controls regulation’)
•Using assurance schemes to inform the prioritisation of controls
