The Institute of Food and Health at University College Dublin is hosting a workshop to present the findings of a three-year long project aimed at estimating the human exposure to veterinary drug residues in the diet. Dietary surveys as provided by the Irish University Nutrition Alliance (www.iuna.net) and residue occurrence data as provided by the National Food Residue Database (www.nfrd.teagasc.ie) and several industry and retail sample surveys have been utilised. Using probabilistic modelling software, Creme Food® (www.cremeglobal.com) a series of exposure assessments have been carried out for the major licensed veterinary drugs in use in food animals in Ireland. Antimicrobials, anthelmintics and anticoccidials have been extensively evaluated in their relevant food animal products and the methodologies, findings and areas for future work will be discussed.

No registration fee.
