Experience and expertise in food safety
I have been working with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) for over 17 years, in various roles. I currently lead the Biological Safety team, within the Food Science and Standards Division. I am the scientific secretary to FSAI’s Biological Safety Sub-committee and am a member of the European Food Safety Authority’s Networks on Microbiological Risk Assessment and Zoonoses Monitoring Data.
My academic background includes a BSc in food microbiology from UCC, where I attained my PhD in the area of food biotechnology. I am a past President and Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology of Ireland.
