The webinar will present the EFSA guidance document on allergenicity assessment of genetically modified (GM) plants (EFSA GMO Panel, 2017). In particular, the topics addressed will be non-IgE-mediated adverse immune reactions to foods, in vitroprotein digestibility tests and endogenous allergenicity. In this document, EFSA provides supplementary considerations and guidance on the practical implementation of new scientific and regulatory developments relevant for the risk assessment of proteins and of GM plants.
The webinar addresses applicants, who intend to submit GMO applications for risk assessment by EFSA, as well as regulators and risk assessors.
During the webinar, participants may submit questions which EFSA will answer via the Q&A session. EFSA will publish a recording of the webinar on its website after the event.
