"Food Defense" is the sum of actions and activities related to prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery of the food system from intentional acts and adulteration. This includes intentional adulteration from both terrorism and criminal activities. Criminal activities include economically motivated adulteration, as well as by disgruntled employees, consumers, or competitors intending to cause public harm or business disruption. 

The Food Defense Conference is a 2-day event held at the Commons Hotel on the beautiful University of Minnesota- Twin Cities campus.  This unique and intimate opportunity is designed for experts from around the world to discuss and learn from each other about the current state of food defense. Attendees will enjoy a variety of  sessions, networking opportunities and workshops geared specifically at reducing the impact of food system attacks and catastrophic events.
