International Conference: Salmonella in Pork Production

 On Thursday 6th October, Teagasc Food Research Centre, Ashtown, will host a major European Conference on ‘Salmonella in Pork Production’. This international event, organised by Dr. Declan Bolton and sponsored by the European Commission through the Q-Pork Chains project (www.q-porkchains.org), will feature presentations by international experts, including Dr. Todd Callaway, USDA-ARS [USA], Dr. Hector Arguello, University of Leon, [Spain] and Dr. Lis Alban, Danish Agriculture and Food Council, Copenhagen, [Denmark]. Topics to be covered include prevalence, risk factors, risk assessment and control. Pork producers and processors, veterinarians, public health specialists, regulator personnel, food safety microbiologists, etc. will find this event both informative and thought provoking with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.
