PropioBifido2016 will address the latest scientific developments for these commercially significant bacteria, which are really important contributors to health and key ingredients in the (functional) food industry.

The Symposium will provide our research community with the opportunity to critically review and examine the fundamental and applied aspects of our research and will enable all stakeholders to communicate effectively in a highly dynamic and interactive environment.  Scientists from academia and industry will address a number of scientific themes around these two microbial groups, including their molecular biology/physiology, health-promoting activities, probiotic mode of action, prebiotics and host-microbe interactions.
