Guest of Honour: Sarah Church, Director, Food and Farming, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
This conference will bring together policymakers and key stakeholders to discuss the policy priorities for the UK food, drink and farming industry.
It will be a timely opportunity to discuss Defra’s industry-led 25-year plan to boost the growth of the UK’s food and farming sector, due to be released this summer, which is expected to focus on growing exports and trade, increasing competitiveness, and encouraging technology innovation.
The agenda will also include discussion on the wider challenges facing the sector including negotiating the regulatory landscape, meeting the demand for new skills and developing research partnerships, against a backdrop of environmental and food security challenges.
We are delighted that Sarah Church, Director, Food and Farming, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has agreed to deliver a keynote address at this seminar, together with Minette Batters, Deputy President, NFU; Rob Ward, Co-Founder, Grocery Accelerator; Steve Wearne, Director of Policy, Food Standards Agency; Paul Wilkinson, Chair, National Skills Academy for Food and Drink Manufacturing and a senior speaker confirmed from ADAS.
Calum Kerr MP, Shadow SNP Westminster Group Leader (Environment and Rural Affairs) has kindly agreed to chair part of this seminar.
