NutraMara, the Marine Functional Foods Research Initiative, is a programme established through funding from the Marine Institute and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine in Ireland, for the identification and development of novel bioactive ingredients for functional foods, from marine-derived resources.
The NutraMara Conference and Expo: Harnessing marine bioresources for innovations in the food industry will take place on the 29th and 30th of June 2015 at the Royal Dublin Society, Dublin, Ireland.
Key topics to be addressed at the conference include:
- Marine based functional food ingredients
- Functional bioactives from macro and micro algae
- Value addition to marine processing by-products
- Novel applications of marine derived bioactives and biomaterials
- Advances in seafood and seaweed processing
An exhibition will also take place which will showcase innovative technologies and opportunities in marine bioresources for the food industry.
