On 26-29 April 2016, the European Food Safety Authority will open its doors to the public.

Citizens and students from universities will be able to attend info sessions where EFSA experts present the Authority’s work and share their experiences about working for a European agency whose mission is to ensure that Europe’s food is safe.

They will get an insight into what EFSA does and its work in different areas – from nutrition, to animal health and welfare, plant health, and pesticides. Speakers will also talk about Europe, the role of EFSA in the EU food safety system and the Europe Day, which is held on 9 May every year and marks the anniversary of the historical 'Schuman declaration'.

Alberto Spagnolli, Head of Communications and External relations, explained why EFSA has engaged in this initiative: “Working in EFSA allows us to live the EU experience every day. We want to share this privilege with the citizens of Parma, help them get closer to Europe and to understand what Europe does to ensure the safety of our food!"

Come along to learn more about the science behind European food policy making. To attend an info session, you need to register first.
