We would like to inform you that the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS), with the support of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the Italian Ministry of Health, will organize the International Conference “The burden of mycotoxins on animal and human health”, that will be held on Friday 15th December 2017 at the Auditorium of Ministry of Health, in Rome.
The main themes of the Conference will deal with the implication of climate changes on fungal and mycotoxins production and preventive and corrective actions to be undertaken for minimizing the phenomenon as well; moreover, a specific part will be devoted to the role of biomonitoring studies in exposure and risk assessment of human beings, with particular emphasis on very sensitive population groups such as infants, toddlers and children.
The event will allow for stakeholders and researchers involved in the agri-food chain and facing the multifaceted issues that the presence of mycotoxins in crops systematically poses to meet. It has the auspice to serve as a platform for interaction among leading scientists from public institutions, academia and industry to discuss the latest developments on the most promising risk assessment and management actions, with emphasis on the most effective preventive approaches in primary production, biomarkers of exposure and other different aspects such as economics and ethical issues.
