The FIC (Food Information to Consumers) Regulation 1169/2011 replaces the current labelling regulation and will apply from 13th December 2014. The purpose of the FIC regulation is to make it easier for the consumer to read and understand the information on food labels.

As with any regulation there is a cost implication.  Food companies will have to assess and re-label product on their shelves, invest in nutritional analysis, compositional information and perhaps shelf life testing.

This half-day workshop is being organized for food and beverage companies to bring greater clarity to the different aspects of the FIC regulation and to help companies understand what needs to be done to achieve regulatory compliance.

A panel of invited experts will present a series of talks followed by a Q&A session.  Questions will be taken from the floor. Attendees are also invited to submit any questions they may have in advance to m.mccarthybuckley@ucc.ie
