These events are very helpful if you own or work in a small food business and also for those of you who want to get your new food business off the ground.

Our upcoming Breakfast Bite is on: How to declare allergen information on non-prepacked (loose) foods - update

Fourteen food allergens which are specified under EU law must be declared on the packaging of prepacked foods. This requirement is in place since December 13th 2014 to cover all food, i.e. non-prepacked or loose food. This means that food businesses such as restaurants, takeaways, pubs, caterers, hotels etc. that did not have to declare allergen use, must now do so. It also covers ‘distance selling’ whereby food is purchased on the internet or over the phone and delivered to the consumer. Dr Pat O’Mahony of the FSAI will give an update on the Regulations and review how industry has been meeting the new requirements since December 2014.
